President Bola Tinubu recorded a massive victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Benue State, securing a total of 375,507 votes during the exercise held across the state.

The result was announced on Saturday at the APC state collation centre in Makurdi by Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, who served as the state collation officer for the primary election.
According to the governor, Tinubu defeated his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 779 votes in the contest.
Alia disclosed that the president emerged victorious in all the 23 local government areas of Benue State, a development that further strengthened his dominance in the party’s presidential primary in the state.
Speaking after the collation of results, the governor stated that the exercise was conducted in line with the guidelines and procedures laid down by the party for the primary election.
“I, Hyacinth Alia, State Collation Officer, hereby certify that the information contained in this form represents a true, correct and accurate record of the summary of results from the local governments in Benue, and I so sign it,” he said.
“So, by virtue of the votes cast, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the winner in Benue.”
The outcome of the exercise sparked celebrations among APC supporters in parts of Makurdi and other areas of the state, as party loyalists described the result as a strong show of support for the president ahead of the 2027 general election.
