Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has revealed that he served as the Benue State Coordinator and Collation Officer for the 2026 Presidential Primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), overseeing the collation and declaration of results across all 23 local government areas of the state.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the governor said, “Yesterday, in my capacity as the Benue State Coordinator and Collation Officer for the 2026 Presidential Primaries of the All Progressives Congress, I presided over the collation and declaration of results across the 23 Local Government Areas of Benue State at the APC Secretariat, Makurdi.”
He further explained that the exercise was conducted in a transparent and orderly manner, adding that, “After a transparent and orderly process, I officially announced His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the winner of the Presidential Primaries in Benue State, having defeated Mr. Osifo Stanley by a very wide margin.”
The collation exercise, which took place at the APC Secretariat in Makurdi, brought together party officials who reviewed results from all 23 LGAs before the final declaration was made.
The development underscores ongoing internal democratic processes within the APC as the party continues to strengthen its structures across states ahead of future political contests.
Governor Alia’s role in the exercise has drawn attention within political circles in Benue, especially given his position as state governor and his involvement in overseeing the party’s collation process.
