Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election held ahead of the next general election.

According to Daily Post, Governor Alia was declared the party’s flagbearer after securing the highest number of votes in an exercise that took place yesterday across various centres in the state. The announcement followed the conclusion of voting and collation of results by APC electoral officials.
The primary election saw strong participation from delegates and party stakeholders drawn from different local government areas of Benue State. Security personnel were deployed to strategic locations to ensure the process remained peaceful and orderly throughout the exercise.
After the results were officially announced, supporters of the governor took to the streets in celebration, describing his victory as a strong endorsement of his leadership and performance in office.
Party officials also commended the conduct of delegates during the primary, noting that the exercise was transparent and largely peaceful. They further assured members that the process reflected the will of the party at the state level.
Governor Alia is expected to address party faithful in the coming days following his emergence as the APC governorship candidate.
